Read Across America

This week was Read Across America week. Our learning center participated in a read-a-thon, each class reading as many books as they can throughout the week. Our center partnered with Chic-Fil- A for some special events. On Monday, each child decorated a placemat that would be later displayed at the local restaurant. Today the Chic-Fil-A cow made a special visit to each class and a representative read a book to the kids. After, each child got to hug the cow. It was very cute. I had a chance to catch Dylan in action. I wasn't sure how he'd respond, but he was elated beyond belief. He hugged the cow, gave him a high five and wanted his picture taken. Emersyn missed the whole thing because she was taking a nap. Bummer!
Friday night Chic-Fil-A will be celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. Unfortunately we won't be going.
